Gakked from [profile] flo_nejla, because I can never resist a fandom-meme.

Do you have a word-count goal for 2018?
No. I never care for how many words I write.

Will you participate in any fandom exchanges or fic challenges, etc.?
Certainly. I’m doing Chocolate Box right now, and I’m sure I will do Remix Revival, The Darkest Night and Yuletide. Possibly Night On Fic Mountain too, but I will be rather busy when it comes around, so I’m not sure.

Do you anticipate writing for a new fandom in 2018? Which one?
I never anticipate that. I see or read something and inspiration strike, or I don’t.

Do you think you’ll stop writing for a fandom in 2018? Which one?
Not really.

Which WIP is first on your list to complete this year? Will you post a snippet?
A Doctor Who-fic called Nothing Interesting Ever Happens in Perivale . And the snippet is a bit of conversation between the Master and Sarah Jane:

The tea seemed to render the Master more companionable, because he suddenly surprised her with a question.

“Why do you keep a robot dog in your cleaning cupboard?”

“It’s my dog. I turn him off when I leave home because he isn’t functioning properly. But he is quite fun- you should have turned him on.”

“I see. The laser beam in his nose is still fully functional, I gather.”

“Oh yes, it works perfectly,” Sarah Jane said brightly and the Master snorted and relapsed into silence.

Which yet-to-be-started fic is first on your list?
The last part of my vampire-trilogy. But I need to finish editing the two first parts first.

Will you change anything about the way you interact with other writers?
I doubt that.

Is there a story idea in your mental vault that you’ve never been brave enough to try writing? Is 2018 the year?
Oh yes, but I doubt they will ever get written. Most of the are pretty much self-indulgent fantasies and/or too similar to fics already written.

Short term goals… what do you hope to complete this week or in January?
My gift-fic for The Chocolate Box.

Will you keep a record of all the fics you write and/or post this year?
No need to as I post everything at AO3, so it’s easy to check there.

Would you like to try any new fanfic genres or tropes in 2018?
Not really.

Will you change anything about the way you edit or rewrite in 2018?
Not really. On the whole I wish I had more of my fics beta-read, but I feel very self-conscious asking for one, and mostly only do it for gift-fics.

Aside from fanfic, are there any other fan works you’d like to try creating? Fanart, or fanvids, gifsets, or podfic?
I have ideas for fanart, but it’s unlikely I will ever do any.

Have you ever lost large chunks of your work in the past, due to not backing up your work? Will you change your methods in 2018?
Yes. Nowadays I write them in Google Doc and crosspost between my journal, AO3 and Fanfiction.net.

Do you foresee any personal or professional obstacles in 2018, that would keep you from creating fanworks?
Nope.

Do you have that one fanfic that you wrote a ton for, ages ago, but never posted? Will this be the year, come hell or high water, that it WILL get finished and posted?
No. Only one I wrote a ton for and posted, but never finished. I don’t know what to do with it, actually. I still like it, I know what is going to happen, but I started writing it 12 years ago, and I feel my writing has improved a lot since then. So if I’m to finish it, I will need to re-write the previous chapters too.

Do you typically answer all comments/reviews individually? Do you plan to change the way you interact with your readers this year?
Yes. And no.

Do you typically post multi-chapters as you write, or finish it all and then start posting? Would you like to change your posting method?
I post as I write, but I usually have the whole story mapped out in my head, and know where it will end.

Would you consider non-fandom writing events, like NaNoWriMo or writing contests?
No.

Any plans to work on original fiction this year?
Well, as mentioned above I plan to finish my vampire-trilogy. It’s only fanfic in the sense every story with Dracula can be considered fanfic, even if it owes inspiration from The Historian.
