Day 09
In your own space, set some goals for the coming year. They can be fannish or not, public or private. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I have a few fannish goals.
1.To write better. I was productive last year with 30+ fics, but looking back I feel some aren’t as good as I could probably have got them if I had spent more time on them. So I will try to do just that, and not rush things. I may also spend some time edit a few older ones. I re-wrote a couple of very old fics last year and feel that are a lot better now.
2. Not be so shy about asking for beta-help. This ties in with above. I find it very difficult to ask for help and when it comes to beta-ing I feel so intrusive to ask because I know someone will do it on their spare time. But I’ve realised that I can actually ask.
3. Do something about my WIP’s. Strictly speaking I have four with multiple chapter out there, but one of them I’m currently writing on and know I will finish. One of them I have already decided not to go on with. It stalled ten years ago, I have zero inspiration to write in that fandom again and I don’t even remember how I planned to end it. I feel bad about it, but I have tried to do something about it for years, but never got around to. So I have accepted that I will have to let that one go and make sure I remove it where it’s posted. And then I have two where I have the plotline and still feel enthusiastic about, and those I will try to do finish this year.
4. Continue to aim to comment on what I read.
5. And start to rec fics regularly again.
6. I will also continue to do gift-exchanges and gift fics, something I did for the first time last year and enjoyed a lot.
